Cotton Tree

Hi everyone!
The other day, Thursday to be exact, I had the chance to catch up with some of my closest friends. Not everyone was there, which was a shame, but we still had fun. Basically, one of our friends is camping at Cotton Tree and we decided we would all go down for dinner on the beach and a swim in the afternoon.
It was so lovely, and the weather was gorgeous. (If a little hot and muggy)

As you can see, I actually remembered to take some photos!
Sorry if this isn't very exciting. I just wanted to share what I've been up to in the final days of my holidays.

Holidays - The Time For Awesome Food

Hi everyone!
As it is the summer holidays, and I get a whopping eight weeks to do whatever I want, we've been eating and making some pretty good food. Of course, we don't everyday. But here are some that I made myself and I want to share with you all .They are super easy and taste delicious!
When I went to my friend's house for New Year's, I made cupcakes! Not just any though, I made green cupcakes. This is the same recipe that can be found in the blog post: Cake Baking.

pesto and feta!
ham and pineapple
pepperoni and cherry tomatoes
Mum and I made these pizzas, the other night - base and all. The base was a MasterChef recipe, which, if I'm not mistaken, can probably be found on there website. These were all so so delicious, and taste great the next day too.

We made fruit salad! In this particular one, there was grapes, mango, pomegranate, blueberries, and raspberries, which we served with some vanilla yoghurt. A delicious lunch!

Just the other day I was sitting around home, incredibly bored. So, I decided to make a cake! This is again using the same recpipe as Cake Baking and honestly, it's an amazing one. The cakes taste delicious every time.

That's all I have for today,

Book Review: The Prophecy of the Gems

Hi everyone!
Before I begin, I'll admit it. I haven't read this book in sometime and it is an old childhood favourite. This is, in fact, a review that I've edited from 2012. So forgive me for how terrible it is, but I really want to share with you one of the books that made my childhood special.

It was actually a giant fluke that I found this book. When I go to libraries and can't find anything to read I generally stand in front of a shelf, close my eyes and pull out a random book. Sometimes they're good, and sometimes they're not. This was how I found the Prophcey of the Gems. On first glance of the cover I thought it would be quite childish and immature. In spite of this I borrowed the book out to read. Holy moly did I end up loving it. Truly, I did. The suspense, intrigue and fantasy that came within the pages of the book had me hooked. Flavia used a language that made me feel like I was there alongside the tree protagonists: Jade, Opal, and Amber. I was there watching the whole thing unfold. When I finished, I looked this book up I saw it had a lot of negative criticism. I can't understand why? It was a delightful tale about trust, love, destiny, and staying true to yourself.
I recommended this book to many of my friends over the years, and they have all immensely enjoyed it.
Seriously, just read it. You won't regret it.

Bargain Shopping

Hi everyone!

I recently went into one of my favourite stores for the first time in ages, Jay Jays. I was very pleasantly greeted with a table that said $5. Naturally, I had to go and look at it, and buy things. Here's what I got for really good prices:
This shirt cost me a whole five dollars, and I absolutey love it. (You can find it here:

Everything else you see above was five dollars (except for the high wasited shorts at the top: I got those ages ago). The shorts in the bottom picture were $20. Unfortuately, I cannot find any of these products online. Here is the link to their website:
You never know, you might find something you like,

I Think I Have A Problem...

Hi everyone!
Basically, I need help. I have a problem.
I can't stop buying books! They are everywhere and I just think to myself - oh, that would look so nice on my bookshelf, I really want to read that, that cover!
It's neverending. So, here's my giant book haul from the past few weeks.
I finished this today and oh my gosh, it is so cute. I love it. Highly reccommend if you want a good read about love and boys and all the confusion that comes with it.
What an ending to a series, Rick Riordan. I loved it. A+. If you haven't read Percy Jackson, do it.
I haven't read this yet. Looked and sounded cool though.
Haven't read this either. The premise of parrallel worlds sound intriguing.
I got this for Christmas, which makes me so happy. It is such a great series.
Only a few words: loved it, lovely ending
Isn't the title so nice???
This sounds so, so promising. I'm excited.
And then I got some classics, because I think I need to read more of them.
So there you have a little nose-y into the books I've been buying lately. Until next time,

Happy New Year!

Hi everyone!

As I am sure you are all aware, we are now in 2015. WOOHOO!
While this is an exciting time to bring in the New Year, it is also a time of reflection. A time where I think about the crazy, wonderful year I just went through. For me, I loved 2014 an awful, awful lot. It was fantastic. I loved the new group of friends I've surrounded myself with, I'm proud of my academic achievments, and I'm happy with the oppurtunities I have taken and benefitted a lot from.
2014 was just an incredible year and I hope it was for you too. Fingers crossed for an even better 2015!

I'm not the person to make New Years Resloutions, but I will say this:

  1. I am going to try my damn hardest to get better at this blogging thing
  2. I will take more photos
So there you go. That's my little goals for this year.
For those of you wondering, I brought in the New Year with a bunch of friends. We went for a late night walk, popped party poppers, had sparklers, and laughed a whole lot.
