Holiday TBR Pile

Hi all!

I have some exciting news (for me) to tell you today: I am officially on holidays! I had my last exam on the 16th (at 8am - it was torturous) and I feel so free. Most of my friends went out to celebrate finishing but I was so not in the mood - although I never am to be honest. So after a little cry on the walk to the train station I had a really lovely, chilled out evening eating pizza and ice cream and watching Game of Thrones with one of my good friends which I really enjoyed.

Finishing my first year of university has left me, to be perfectly honest, a little unsure as to what my future holds. At this point I don't even know if I want to continue journalism. I loved my history this semester and I wish I could do a whole degree with it but I'm just not sure that is practical.

I'm choosing to ignore that for the moment and am instead focusing on something I love to do - read. I never usually do a TBR for a month or anything like that, but it was a photo idea Kiara and I had for her bookstagram, mazesofpages. It made me think about what I want to read over the holidays (and there's a lot, this is just a selection of 10) and so I thought it would be fun to share with all of you my picks.

I didn't mean to pick this picture but just roll with Kiara's closed eyes... you can see the better one on her instagram!

I have a slightly odd selection, but anyway. First up there's Outlander by Diana Gabaldon which is a book I have just started and I have a feeling I'm really going to love this one. It's got time travel and history and romance, so what more could I ask for? I've then also put Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas on the list because my sister raves about this series all the time and I love her other one, A Court of Thorns and Roses. It's a fantasy series and I'm so keen to get started!

You may remember me mentioning The Luxe by Anna Godbersen earlier this year, and I now want to continue on and read the sequel, Rumors, this holidays. I also want to read the next book in the Anne of Green Gables series (I'm up to Anne of the Island) and I'm so keen to delve into the lovely world of Anne very soon.

You may notice a running theme here - finishing off my series! I also want to get stuck into City of Lost Souls, which would mean I'm finally in the tail end of my Cassandra Clare reread and I will actually be able to read Lady Midnight soon. Then there's also the third Narnia book, The Horse and His Boy, which I'm looking forward to getting around to.

I'm also desperately in the mood to reread Harry Potter and some point, so of course the first book is on the list (when is it not though). And I mentioned last month that I had been loving the TV show Poldark, so of course I want to get into the books by Winston Graham.

Finally I want to continue with to other series (both rereads actually) and that is the fourth Vampire Academy book by Richelle Mead and the second Fallen book by Lauren Kate. They're old favourites of mine (especially Vampire Academy) so I have enjoyed revisiting them so far this year.

Do you have any plans to read book these holidays, and if so what are they? I'll keep you updated on how I go with both my TBR pile and deciding what to do about university, so look forward to that (if you want).
